Three Days Grace se forme dans la petite ville de Norwood en Ontario au Canada. Le groupe est composé de Adam Gontier (chant/guitare), Brad Walst (basse) et Neil Sanderson (batterie). Le groupe, qui s'appelaient Groundswell au début, était un groupe composé de 5 membres de 1992 à 1997.. En 1997, ils deviennent un trio et changent de nom. Three Days Grace se trouve finalement à Toronto, Ontario, Canada, et commencentt à travailler avec le producteur Gavin Brown. A ce moment, ils donnent toutes leurs chansons à Brown et c'est lui qui choisit lesquelles lui semblent les plus prometteuses. Il a vraiment aimé la chanson “(I Hate) Everything About You.” Le groupe signe ensuite de nouveau avec Jive Records. Puis, ils enregistrent leur 1er album éponyme à Woodstock, à Newyork. L'album, Three Days Grace, sort le 22 juillet 2003. Le premier signle “(I Hate) Everything About You” connait un grand succès et passe beaucoup à la radio.

Début 2004, ils ont eu la chance de faire la 1ere partie de Nickelback pendant une tournée

Three Days Grace (2003-2005)
A l'achèvement de l'album éponyme Thee Days Grace, le groupe recrute Barry Stock pour le poste de guitariste principal afin de permettre à Adam de se concentrer pleinement au poste de Chanteur. Le single "I Hate Everything About You" devint numero 1 dans le US Modern Rock et Mainstream Rock charts et numéro deux dans le Canadien Rock charts. Leur second Singles "Just Like You" devint peu après à son tour numéro un aux Etats Unis et également tube numéro un aux Rock Charts au Canada.


One-X (2006-2008)
Leur second album One-X leur a permis un accroissement de leur popularité aussi bien au Canada qu'aux Etats-Unis. Certifié album de Platine dans les deux pays, 1 136 124 de copies ont été vendue aux Etats-Unis au 29 Mars 2008. Le premier single a été "Animal I Have Become" avec la réalisation du clip. Le second single, "Pain" a été qualifié de single en Septembre 2006 avec son nouveau clip, et le dernier "Never Too Late" en Juillet 2007. Après la réalisation de leur second album One-X, ils entament une tournée dans tous les états des Etats-Unis, au dépit de l'Europe
